There are two things you absolutely cannot miss while in Canoa Quebrada. The first is to watch an amazing and special Circus Show, which stars young children of the Canoa Quebrada Community. The second is to visit another non-profit organisation named Recicriança that is positioned near the oldest neighbourhood of Canoa Quebrada. This is where the locals live and make interesting walks over the dunes possible. They are young, native people actively preserving the environment and are also involved in the defence of the Rights of Children and Adolescents, income-generation activities, and sport and leisure. Meet the Team!
Before arriving at Canoa, we want to introduce to you the members of our team, the Brazil Incoming Services, or B!S, as you can also call our company.
Sergio, from Sardegna Island in Italy, is the B-B-B (that means B!S Big Boss): in 1995 he landed in Canoa Quebrada, the place he chose to make his home after a long trip throughout the entire Brazilian coast. His first venture was to build the Bar Regart, now one of the best options in Canoa that only closes when the last customer leaves at sunrise. In 2000 he started building the Long Beach Village, the best hotel in Canoa Quebrada. Last year he began work on another little but very charming "Pousada", Il Nuraghe Inn, which has its soft opening foreseen in July 2009.
Pierluigi, from Naples, Italy, is our Destination Developer and specialist in sustainable tourism and new project planning. He is the team's guru, even though he only arrived in Canoa in May 2008. He has worked in tourism planning for years, collaborating with the Brazilian Government Tourist Office and also with great international tour operators. He has lived in Brazil since 1980 and worked as an Italian Vice Consul in Piaui State for more than 20 years as well as General Secretary of the Italy-Brazil Commerce Chamber, of which he is now the local Delegate. He also was one of the founders of an important Cultural and Social Foundation in the town of Teresina, Piauì State and now he is a member of its Board. In Canoa Quebrada he is a member of the Tourism Manager Group, that was promoted by the Brazilian Ministry of Tourism.
Soraya, hailing from Floriano in the Piaui State,1.000 km from Canoa Quebrada is our great "full of energy" Operations Manager, with successful experience in all kinds of incoming services in one of the most famous Brazilian beach destinations. She won't rest until clients are satisfied and have the most updated information regarding their trip! She was coordinator of tourism courses in Teresina for four years and she is too a member of the Tourism Manager Group of Canoa Quebrada.
Last but certainly not least, "Mr. Andre'", who comes from Teresina, also in the Piaui State and is our computing genius. Only 19 years old, as is every good computing genius, he is responsible for our machines.
