Paraglide Double Flight

Duration: 0.3 hour(s) - Location: On the Red Cliff, near to the Catholic Church in Canoa Quebrada Beach
The Canoa Quebrada coloured cliffs give this wonderful beach one more gift: the possibility of practicing fantastic flights in double paraglide. In fact, the wind that blows from the sea hits the cliff and creates upward currents, giving adequate support to paraglide.

Paraglide equipment has evolved a lot, and today, it is possible to fly like a bird in this cathedral silence. This leaves every paraglide flyer excited, and the ballet of paragliders taking off and landing, fascinates even those who are not flying.

Jerônimo is a Swiss citizen who arrived in Brazil by sailboat. He came from Dakar via Venezuela more than 20 years ago, after spending almost two years on the sea. Arriving in Canoa Quebrada, he found the love of his life and now works as paraglide professional pilot, together with his friend and associate Stéphane.

Jerônimo is qualified as pilot, instructor and flight examiner for double paraglide by ABVL (Brazilian Free Flight Association), which is recognized by the Brazilian Government Department of Civil Aviation: he holds the piloting card n. 2192 Level III, issued by ABVL.

Canoa Quebrada's wind conditions are so safe that it allows paraglide double flights even to individuals with disabilities, such as paraplegics. Other localities near Canoa Quebrada are also suited for this kind of flight, such as Barreiras de Icapuí and the Redonda Beach. The duration of the flight is of 15 or 20 minutes.
